Precision Pickups

I put a NP4 in my 50's P. After a while I wondered where that raw punchy P sound went. I went back to the stock. More mids, less treble. I think the NP4 was slightly scooped. The stock pickups in the 50's P measure about 10.5K which is about the same as the Fender 62.

Thats why I went with the Rio Grandes. They have those strong P bass mids that I love but they have a much fuller sound compared to the stock 50s pups in my opinion.

"Great choice with the Rio Grandes. I think they are the best kept secret in bass (and guitar) pickups out there. The vintage or the Muy Grande are excellent."

Did you have a preference between the Rio Grande Vintage and Muy Grandes?
