Get a G&L L1000 with the thinner neck profile. Better bass all around.... (covers head with hands to avoid incoming). The nut widths are the same, but much thinner front to back.

Precisions with slimmer necks...

Get a G&L L1000 with the thinner neck profile. Better bass all around.... (covers head with hands to avoid incoming). The nut widths are the same, but much thinner front to back.
If you find one you like except for the neck profile, you could have the neck shaved/re-shaped to your liking.
I think you may like an American Special P. It has a slimmer neck then an American Standard P.
My American special has a slimmer neck than most P Basses...it's very comfortable switching from it to a jazz, and vice versa. While it is not a jazz neck, it definitely is a very fast, comfortable size neck that is not big and bulky.
Fender Custom Shop makes the Postmodern Bass...a Precision Bass with a 60s jazz neck...very nice player...
This is really true! I love my L-1000, but the neck is actually too thin for my tastes. It doesn't stop me from playing it because it sounds so good, but I much prefer the thicker neck of my L-1500.
