Premium 1x15 Bass Cabinet?

Quick question that I hope will spark some interesting discussion on 1x15 cabs.

I really like the sound/vibe I get with 15s and I'm looking to replace my Ampeg Portaflex 115LFs down the road. I love the sound from the 115LFs, but at high volumes the sound quality decreases (not as crisp and warm, a bit of vibration from the cabs) and they don't have the best build quality (not bad, but certainly not premium). (Current Amps = SVT CL, SVT 7, PF500)

So, that leads me to my question: What do you consider to be the highest quality (i.e. rugged/road worthy and dependable) & best sounding cabs (I know that is very subjective...).

Cabs that I have in mind are the Berg 115 and the Ampeg PN115. These are priced very similar, but does the quality and sound on similar levels? I've listened to lots of online clips, but I havent seen any of these two cabs in person.

What do you think??

I'e just ordered a RevSound RS115, an early prototype I heard a couple years back was amazing! It's expected to weigh under 30 lbs and a real bargain IMO . If you're not adverse to heavy Carvin and Avatar have some nice ones too.

I have a pair of the PN-115's and mainly use a 7PRO for power. They are a very nicely built cab, only issue I had was after over 2 years, a rattling/vibration popped up. Took off the grill and gave a slight turn to the screws mounting the speaker. Replaced the grill and I was good to go.

I've had the 7PRO at levels that really pushed the cabs and have never had any fear (within reason). I have no experience with the Berg 115 offerings but they do make top shelf stuff so it really depends on you're personal taste/preference.

I use Fender Bassman Pro Neo 115s with my Super Bassman & Ampeg V4B great sound. Very impressed with em. So much so I sold my 2 Berg 1x12s

Really love my Aguilar DB115. I have two Aguilar DB210s and I "should" pair the two together (as per talkbass wisdom) but the DB115 is just so damn good.

No harm in TRYING the DB115 & DB210 together. ....Might work well, might not??
Two DB115s would be more than twice as nice as your single DB115 tho

Baer made a 1-15, not sure it's still available. They are very high quality (I have 2-112s). Also may want to take a look at the new line that Mesa is coming out with in October.

There are sooooo many great 1x15's out there right now. It is a great size for a lot of applications. Not too big for smaller shows, enough volume for medium to bigger shows (especially with PA support). Some great options to consider would linclude:

Looking for a 115, too. I have Markbass JB combo, which is OK but looking for something to go along with TH-500 head.
Got a chance to play through a DNA 115 (with a SVT Pro7 for an amp) at a local blues jam. It had plenty of low end, which was perfect for my P bass. But, I had to be careful on the master volume since anything past "2" was way too loud for the rest of the band.

I've got an Eden D115 that's almost 20 years old and you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands. I love the sound of that cabinet! On the hunt for a matching one so I can rock a pair of them...but just that single 1x15" cab has served me well on a lot of gigs.

I would definitely also check out the BagEnd.

Ive had a good variety of 115's including EVM-15B loaded Carvin, JBL E140 loaded GenzBenz as well as Eminence loaded homemade. The very best sounding 115 cab Ive ever owned or played on would be a Bag-End S15B-D.

Definitely not a lightweight, but the Mesa Powerhouse 115 is a ballsy cabinet with a nice tweet and usable control. I've played street fairs with a single PH 115 stacked on top of a Mesa Road Ready 115 (no tweeter) loaded with an Em 3015LF. No shortage of lows or highs and volume all day... Good luck - there are a lot of nice 115s on the list above too.

I bought a Puma 900 first, and used it with my SWR cabs, which I thought sounded pretty awesome. Then I bought a tecamp cab (S212) and blew my mind! Everything was so much better. If I plug my puma with my normal settings (That I use with my S212 cab), I could just destroy the SWRs. The heads get a lot of attention, but the cabs are also super duty rigs.
