I've been very pleased with my pair of Ashdown ABM 115 cabinets. The full-size ones, not compact or the MAG line. Very lightweight due to real plywood and neo drivers. One is British made, the other a newer Chinese model. I can't tell the difference. Beware, the fit and finish is excellent, but the covering is very soft and damages easily.

There are sooooo many great 1x15's out there right now. It is a great size for a lot of applications. Not too big for smaller shows, enough volume for medium to bigger shows (especially with PA support). Some great options to consider would linclude:

I just purchased an older SWR Son of Bertha, after usin a lot of cabs, specifically an Eden 215xlt cab, and an SWR Bigfoot 212 loaded wit Eminence 400w 12s. Tone wise, the SoB kills those two cabs by the folk that see me most. I bridge an SWR Stereo 800 into it for larger venues, and it handles all of it soundin really tight, balanced and natural. I paid $180 bucks for it. And will be gettin a second asap. The other day, a friend brought his DNA 112 over. Tone? Nearly identical. The SWR has a less compressed sound, more alive mids and slightly more weight to the tone overall, and slightly more output. The advantages to the DNA 12 are obvious, but, at my full volume at many of my shows, I believe the DNA 12 would self destruct. Heh. I have used Mesa an Trace an Eden 115 cabs. All great and built on a similar diagram as the SoB. But the SoB has somethin they don't, it is a surprisingly efficient, detailed, thunderous cab that handles power very well and sounds tighter than my 210. It's 60lbs, the only drawback. But I simply don't care. That sound is awesome!

Gotta go plus one on the Baer ML-115 - it is the best single 15 cabinet I have ever owned and I have owned a few. Big authoritative lows without boom and all the highs without the sizzle. Not too big or heavy, but really well made.
Roger Baer makes some of the most musical sounding cabinets out there.

If you want a thumping 15" for some Blues and Motown.

The Ampeg Neo 115 and the Ashdown CL115 (Made in UK) and killers. Especially with small tube heads.

I played out of an ampeg B2 combo with a fifteen and a two twelve cab on top. I used it for a while before switching to an svt 7 and an 810e. I find the 810 to give much more presence in the band without sounding strained, and i love how punchy the notes sound.

Played through one of these last night and it really knocked my socks off! Handled my 5 string quite nicely and had a great thump.

It's the NY151 Randy Jackson sig cab...say what you will about markbass but I found this to be really impressive and it is only 37 lbs and the handle is well placed.

I've had some experience with 1x15's. If you're want a 3-way cab with mids & tweet.:Accugroove. You want a 2-way cab with speaker & tweet: Schroader. You want a 1x15 full range: Peavey 115BX. Don't be put off by the Peavey name. You can pick them up for very reasonable money and they are built properly and sound fantastic. Find the plain version and pull the badge if you're inclined. Bag End is another good choice for a15 cab whether the d or xd (2-way) version.

And after seeing the postedFender cab, I've got to add that a couple of Altec 421-8H's in a Showman cab under a Blackface Fender Bassman will provide a religious tone experience. Stage monitoring volume and sound...maybe not so to your ears, but throw a decent mic on the cab and you will have god-tone in the front-of-house speaks.
