Just wondering if anyone has heard much on this unit?

Looks pretty smart, don't think it's out yet. Will probably cost a bomb.

One apparent downside is that it won't have motorised faders.

Apparently that was to keep the cost down, and the unit will be under $2,000

As far as im aware you wouldnt need to use either, tho i dare say you may be able to use the digi to give you more channels.

The studiolive is a 22x18 firewire interface, so you dont need anything else to record with it (well, other than a computer)

That's wild, didn't expect it was that but it makes sense, I almost would sell my Firestudio and my Digimax for one of those.

The one thing I've noticed is that a lot of people are really adverse to using a laptop as a mixer, everyones always looking for the hard interface.

I know i'd prefer a hard interface, thats why i bought a behringer controller (which was a nightmare to setup).

But something like the studio live would be awesome. Keep everything together aswell.

The one thing I don't quite understand is that if you have an interface with FS and the Digi with a laptop, why do some people still invest in a mixer?

Personally I like both.
