Prices. This is crazy.

That type of price increase is without merit and bad business.
Fender has long been off the rails with their pricings, and as bmc sez, it won't last. Soon very few will have those kind of spare dollars for a new toy.
But if it does, and if Squier maintains the CV quality and pumps out more new/old models, we all can forget about having/'needing' the Fender decal on the headstock, and we'll still have the $ to enjoy more NB/GD's.

Got my 05 in 05 for $580 plus tax. Only the neck remains, the body was just too heavy.
The neck however is sick and is on a Hwy 1 P bass with SD 1/4 lbers. and a Badass II.
The problem with government: Red Tape, Waste, Corruption.
GREEDY SUCKERS TRYING TO PAD THEYRE OWN COFFERS.
PEOPLE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF LOOPHOLES IN OUTDATED SYSTEMS.
All this greed will end up poisoning the well.
I will not be buying any new basses anytime soon.
THOSE WHO WORK TO BUILD THE WEALTH ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHARE
IN THE PROSPERITY.
What kind of world do we live in?

The economic situation isn't bad if you are into the used bass market.
As things get worse, more and more people will have to sell off spare basses to make ends meet. I'm actually considering it.

I'm in the billing industry, and, sad to say, we're expanding and very financially sound.

Craigslist comes up with more and more that I GAS for these days....and the prices are getting so unbelievably low...

I know we live in a capitalist society, but is it wrong that I can go on craigslist spending sprees and get all new-used gear for the band for a fraction of what I would have paid for new-used gear two years back?

The last 3 times I picked up items and conversed with the sellers, the phrase "I just lost my job" is somewhere in the mix.

Deals are out there guys...if you look. In the last 3 mos I picked up a New Beedlove ABG4 for 300 inc hardcase & a Cirrus BXP 5 for 175 at GC and a new line 6 150 for 265 @ bestbuy...If you keep your eyes open and hold on for them good buys can be found. The stores will liqudate older stock because in this economy cash is king. Instead of Inflation you may see deflation 1st as stores try to move stuff...

Sounds like you're doing those people favors - at least someone is still buying.
