Prince is lame

For those who don't dig him, he basically makes music for himself and he has a huge enough fanbase and residuals from past works where he basically doesn't need the industry to sustain him. A nice position to be in!!

When all the folks that call him lame can have a music carrer as successful and as long as Princes,then you can call him anything you want. He's been in the music business longer than some of you guys have been alive. Try and do better.

I don't care much for his music, but he clearly is very talented. Further, I gained huge respect for him when he did the Superbowl gig in the rain. There was no diva crap, he just went out and did the gig like it was sunny and 70 degrees. Whatever you say about him, he's a pro.

The name change was actually really cool, it was a loophole. His record label was screwing with his music: So he said, Fine, screw with Prince's music, I'm changing my name. It fixed things, gave him some attention, he went back when the legal problems died down. I see nothing "lame" about sticking it to labels.

His music, I don't really get it either, but I wouldn't start a thread in Off Topic randomly bashing a musician: I'd put it in Misc.

Please don't ruin this thread with facts and logic.
