Problem with e-string on Fender Jazz Bass

Cheers folks!

After putting on new strings on my Fender Am. Jazz Bass 2008 everythings fine. After a couple of weeks of playing the sound of the low e-string suddenly becomes dull while the sound of the other stings is still fine. I have tried DR High Beams and Cocco 40-100. All the same. The e-string works fine when using the original Fender 45-110 tapered wound set. But with this set I find the sound of the e-string to heavy.

Any idea? Is it the string-thru-body mechanism that ruins the string? What can I do about it? Thanks for your help!

It's possible the E doesn't have a sharp enough break angle to the bridge saddle. Since it's thicker, you might have to force it a bit to ride in the bridge with the same contact area as the other strings.
