I don't know if this is the right forum or not but here goes.
Last November I bought an SWR SM400S from a fellow TB'er in the classified section. I paid $365.00 through Pay Pal and the amp was shipped. When I received it it was DOA. I notified the person I bought it from and we came to the conclusion that it was damaged during shipment (UPS). The amp was insured and we did all the required paper work and steps. The estimate was approved by UPS and I took the amp in to be fixed ($412.00). I sent the final statement to the person I bought the amp from and he forwarded it to UPS. Now here's the catch. Since the person I bought the amp from has an account with UPS all transactions were done through him. Meaning that the check for the repairs was sent to the seller and he was going to send me a cashiers check. From the looks of it he's keeping the money. He is not replying to my emails, answering my calls, or returning my calls.
I have called UPS about the problem and they can't do anything about it. The check has been sent and the case is settled.
The time period has been 6 months. I have kept all correspondence I have had with the seller.
Any body know what actions I can take to get my money?
Tom
