Will I ever receive my bought and paid for pickups?

Delay aside, I see a fundamental flaw in this kind of business.
They receive too many requests regarding too many details from too many potential-but-not-so-sure buyers.
By the time the builder is done exchanging 10 mails with his customer to set up details, any possible marging is already long gone.

In my case we had a couple of back and forth emails to get on the same page and he seemed very sure of his capability. If you notice I immediately make the payment then I move to substantiate my request i.e. mockup pictures etc. It just seems so wrong that he would post a picture of the humbucker on his facebook and still fail to deliver it to me. That was the that carrot that goaded me on eventually leading me past the point of no return with paypal.

UPDATE:

Now he comes back with this;

"On Sat, May 30, 2015 at 10:07 PM, Jim <[email protected]> wrote:
Because you waited so long to inform me you did not receive the second set
of pickups I sent. This is sounding fishy now you want me to send a third
set to a US address. You lost all credibility in my eyes once you posted
on TB so my suspicion is you attempting to use talk bass to strong arm a
third set , Talk bass users are the lowest scum in the industry and I will
offer no service to anyone who uses it in this way, I would of refunded
you soon l after investigating the problem otherwise"

Jim don't fool yourself please you claim is completely unjustified please do not further tarnish your integrity by making up false conspiracy theories - now I am responsible for swindling you? Come to your senses and do what right! Also, please read the below quote from our correspondence which clear proves that you failed to ship - I notified you - you made up an excuse - then proceeded to ignore me. As you know all of our records are available for public review on TB. Finally, all I want are my pickups if you cannot make good on our business transaction then I request a refund - no need to calculate for interest as you can use the overhead for your medical expenses.

<Edited post of original conversation as found here on TB>

James I'd like to be reimbursed as you have failed to ship me my pickups it has been 1 year and 7 months since I placed my order on Oct 3, 2013. You have the paypal receipt - please do so in a timely manner.P.S. four lines above this you can see your logic fall apart.

Second email:

Also, denial of service based on affiliation is discriminatory and in this case you have had ample time to "investigate" the problem and refund me; was I strong arming you for OVER A YEAR AND SEVEN MONTHS? I missed the last part in my disbelief!

I thought he was going to pull himself up by the boot straps but it seems I was wrong. His customer service was great a couple years ago when I ordered from him, but I damn sure wont be pressing my luck as a repeat customer. Not after that tirade

Update:

This just in; it doesn't end does it?

Posting privet emails on public forms is what i am talking about, I
shipped out your pickups have not heard from you for several months so
assumed you received them , now you come out of the blue with this crap,
this will be my last response, like i said I do not offer any service to
any one who uses TB this way not discriminating affiliation but the way it
is used .

To which I replied:

As you are blatantly lying about stonewalling me I will continue to escalate my grievance with your method of business on further forums. Again Jim, read the dates on our correspondence it is clear as day that I did not come out of the blue. Please reevaluate your logic and do the right thing.

To the Forum:

So according to Jim it is OK to rave positively about gear (we've all done it) but as soon as something goes wrong we are not allowed to write about it with the same fervor we had when we touted it? "The way it is used"; yes as an open forum on which people can voice their opinions about their passion for all things bass.

I already opened a case at paypal
I wish I had done the same but I just kept getting lead on by the whole "I sent it out / let me check on the shipping number" loop. I'm happy that at least someone will be getting their money back!
By the way, Aero also quoted me for the same pickups and they relatively in the same ball park price wise - I wish I had gone with Aero in hindsight.

He said he sent it out few days ago, but usps tracking site is still on preshipment, he said usps is slow on updating its tracking at times, is this true? Thanks
In my case - he said the same thing however, as you can also read on my post; that was not the case. I got sent the tracking number on September 11, 2014; as I understand it, this pre-shipping number is generated online. You, as the receiver can prompt the site to send you emails about the package - "Future activity will continue to be emailed for up to 2 weeks from the Date of Request shown above" as the email from US post stated. I never got any updates because the package was never dropped off for shipment. If anyone can clear up what exactly happened I would greatly appreciated it - it seems to me you can get the pre-shipping number without actually dropping off the parcel for shipping thus, creating a platform to intentionally or mistakenly mislead people about the actual shipping date. Then again in my case I was told it was shipped twice - and only one tracking number was forwarded to me, after a lot of goading from me and about a year in no less, so I cannot believe that the postal system is to blame I think the pickups were never shipped.

Based on this experience, you think filing and pursuing a case in paypal is a wise thing?
