Resolved Problems with password resets

When I try to change my password, I am told to enter my old password. Fine; but when I do, and enter my new password, I am told my original password is incorrect. Then, when I try to use that original password, it says invalid password. I keep resetting and trying to enter a password I can actually remember, but the system doesn't let me. As an 8 year member, this has greatly reduced my presence here and makes me think twice about contributing any more money. If someone sees this and can help me, it would be appreciated.

I'm a bit confused... It sounds like you're just entering an incorrect "old password"? Why not try this: Log out, then on the login form click "forgot password?". This will send a password reset email to your email on file.

That is exactly what I did. Then, when I go to change the newly sent password to something I can remember--following the link to change my password--it tells me that the "new" password I just received is incorrect. As you know, to change your password you have to enter the existing password. That is where the problem is. The new, reset password is not recognized as the "existing" password. Then, going back to log in later, that same password is invalid.
