Professional Busybodies

Mebbe we are being too harsh. You did wrong, you know you did wrong and won't admit it without trashing a concerned citizen and calling her names. You try to minimize the wrong by explanation is boredom.

We, point out that even if your job is shoveling horse s$$t all employment deserves a level of responsibility in its execution. It's called being a grown up.

Is that gentle enough for the detractors of the consensual opinion here?

Ok, we all agree he did a dumb thing. But honestly people - all you goody two shoes out there never drove like a jackass?

I'm sure everyone here has done something they've regretted n the past. The difference is that most of us, when caught, didn't take to the internet blaming those that held us accountable for our actions. I can't speak for anyone else, but that's the part that I really object to.........

Either this is a troll post, you're fifteen, or you're a sociopath. One of the above.
Why no all of the above?

You make bass players look bad, go take up the guitar.
10/10. You, sir, have my aroused my mirth.

I will say not a good idea to drive in such a fashion . One could lose control. It is also a black eye for the company. Most important is that it is not it safe.

That said ,those who have said they call those numbers let me ask.

If everybody ,including you ,had a phone number on there car how many calls would you get?

You might say none ,but I bet you would be surprised at how may you would actually get.

We get calls everyday . Most are blown off . In the case of speeding we have gps that can be historically looked at verifying such behavior.

In the case of cutting someone off all driver fail ay times to see someone . That's where the term defensive driving comes into play. So many drive offensively it's like a competition .

I drive a commercial vehicle ,a one ton van ,been doing so for 25 years . Ive been called in on just a couple times with zero consequences.

I see those number and call when someone is doing something dangerous. Texting while driving is one that I've called on multiple times. Once I saw a truck tailgating a bus, and that one certainly got a call. Those numbers are there for a reason, and if I was doing something to warrant a call, I would hope someone would.

One time I was taking a bong hit while on a pizza delivery and......
Yes, go on...

Yep. When I was 18. And certainly never in a company vehicle while being PAID to drive. And I definitely never drove like a jack ass, got caught, then posted a thread on an internet forum complaining about the "Busy body" that turned me in. :rollno:

This is the thing. Everyone's done something silly in their car while behind the wheel, whether it's pumping the brakes at a red light to the beat, the occasional lane change without signalling, going over the speed limit, blah blah blah. It's one thing to do that in your own vehicle where you represent yourself only, it's another to do it in a branded company vehicle. At that point you're no longer representing yourself, you're representing your employer.

And yea, there's also the bit about coming to an internet forum to insult someone actually using the "How's my driving" number on the back of a company vehicle the way they're supposed to be used.

You don't use the phone while you are driving, do you?

Never, why do you ask?

So thanks a lot lady. I hope it helps you sleep at night knowing that a guy who drives 30+ hours a week, who hasn't been in an accident or gotten a ticket since he was 18, is no longer menacing the turtles of the world.

It helps me sleep!

I drive in the boroughs of New York City, and have been doing so since I got my learner's permit at 17 in 2002. For those who are not familiar, NYC is a place where people (many of whom have no idea where they are going, why they are getting in a car or how they are even breathing) start driving and cause chaos. It's more overpopulated each passing day here, and many people here lack the skill, consideration or common sense it takes to be a decent driver - and many others are complete idiots altogether. New Yorkers from TB can chime in at any time to add to this.

I've seen it all - from cab drivers refusing to move in the middle lane out of spite, to drivers stopping in intersections to drool during their green light, to left blinker on + leaning to the right and going straight, to drivers weaving back and forth on the LIE at 85mph through extremely tight space, to cutting across 4 lanes split second to get to 878 from the Belt Parkway, to people aggressively trying to chase cars out of changing lanes through means of vehicular manslaughter. Needless to say, New York is a challenging place to drive, and there are car accidents daily on any given major road in the NYC Metropolitan Area.

Knowing that someone behaving as dumb as you did faces consequences makes me feel like there is some justice - because there aren't many people paying consequences for that where I am from. No, it's not Ms. Busybody's fault, it's your own. God forbid while you were goofing around you hit some big pothole and lost control of the car.

Take some responsibility and grow up. Good luck, and I hope you learn your lesson.
