I was fooling around with guitar pro and wrote some music on it.

The question. Its harder on timing, speed, tech than my playing. I was wondering if its ok to make music this way. I have heard about people writing walking bass without their instrument to be better at it. Wont this be the same and what are the adv and disadv of this?

It's a fine way to make music, although it won't advance your bass playing as directly as playing the bass will. It helps you learn to get a bassline (or melody) in your head rather than playing hastily selected notes on the spot, but you still need to learn to get the music in your head out through the bass.
