You were right the first time. It's sarcasm referencing other threads, like the one named something like "discrimination based on the price of your bass". For sarcasm, it's a bit overdone.

Personally I thought it was hilarious. If everyone would buy their basses based more on sound and feel and less on what's on the headstock we would all be better off and the world would be a more happy place. I have basses that cost around $100 all the way up to $5000. I like them all and play them all. Please stop listening to people's opinions regarding a name on the headstock. Make your own decisions and stop letting others make them for you.
