*Legal Disclaimer- this thread is a joke and is meant to spark a humorous conversation. None of it is meant to be taken seriously.*
So in my short time here on Talkbass I've noticed that there are a few topics that have been discussed (argued) to death, yet they never fail to generate 100+ replies a day. You know, anything about Squier/Sire vs Fender, tube vs solid state, anything pertaining to mustang Sally, and the list goes on. I thinkers people that love beating these dead horses deserve their own sub forum. I would call it the Rendering Plant, where these fine folks can gleefully beat these dead horses into glue/gelatin. What do you all think? Also sample thread ideas are welcome!
PS this is all in fun so be fun.

What's the best sub forum for metal?

Seriously, unless your computer mouse or thumbs are broken, this is the height of first world problems. Many young/new members are not yet comfortable with the search function. And there's a reason why those threads are so common. They are the topics more bassists are passionate about than any other topics. And the noobs can learn from every thread.

I had been a bass player for a LONG TIME before I stumbled on to a thread regarding underpowered speakers being "more dangerous" and "easier to blow speakers" than overpowering them. I had bought into that "conventional wisdom" for a long time. Then I randomly came across a thread here about it. The first few responses were "do a search" and "not this again" and "I'll get the popcorn". Once I got through all that crappie, I LEARNED from experts here who actually just quit passing and moaning and answered the question. I would have never done a search on that because I didn't know what I didn't know.

There is no topic here that is "settled science". New flats and custom tort guards are being introduced every day. Maybe somebody really would like to get the LATEST opinions on how to sound exactly like the bass tone in the Franky Goes to Hollywood song "Relax" in a pedal. If you don't know, don't answer. But just move along. The servers aren't full yet. There's plenty of room left for one more "best scarf and vest combination for metal" thread. We're not going to break, or fill up, the interwebs.

Scroll by your least favorites. To be sure you can find something you like every dozen threads or so.

im not being serious, it was a joke!

Ah. Seems the delivery was lost on me....

Seemed like a rant against repetitive thread topics and the lack of use of the search function to me. Perhaps the whole "Rendering Plant" thing had popped into your head and you were reaching for an excuse to fire that joke.

Allow me to take my lack of sense of humor on the topic elsewhere.
