Proposal for new sub forum!

BTW, this forum is Bass Humor & Gig Stories. Not Bass Humor OR Gig Stories. Where's the gig story?
It also isn't Humorous Gig Stories. I've always taken the forum title to mean that it is a place for both "bass humor" and "gig stories," which are two different things that sometimes but not always overlap.

So in my short time here on Talkbass I've noticed that there are a few topics that have been discussed (argued) to death, yet they never fail to generate 100+ replies a day. You know, anything about Squier/Sire vs Fender, tube vs solid state, anything pertaining to mustang Sally, and the list goes on. I thinkers people that love beating these dead horses deserve their own sub forum. I would call it the Rendering Plant, where these fine folks can gleefully beat these dead horses into glue/gelatin. What do you all think? Also sample thread ideas are welcome!
PS this is all in fun so be fun.

How about "The Regurgitation Forum"?

I had been a bass player for a LONG TIME before I stumbled on to a thread regarding underpowered speakers being "more dangerous" and "easier to blow speakers" than overpowering them. I had bought into that "conventional wisdom" for a long time. Then I randomly came across a thread here about it. The first few responses were "do a search" and "not this again" and "I'll get the popcorn". Once I got through all that crappie, I LEARNED from experts here who actually just quit passing and moaning and answered the question. I would have never done a search on that because I didn't know what I didn't know.

Plus there are broken links on this forum and some other forms I frequent are full of broken links. For one forum in particular, every link before last November is broken. When running a search, sometimes the first few pages are full of people talking about using search. A few helpful people post links, but how many of those are broken? I have posted dead-horse questions before after going through dozens of pages of search result full of irrelevant responses that happen to keyword-match or posts from over 5 years ago that have a dead link. Then you have the mega-threads with well over 1,000 posts. Yep the answer might be in the mega-thread, but expecting someone to read through 2,300 PAGES of posts is unreasonable.
