Punchy, deep, and lightweight - is it possible?

Add Waves MaxxBass to your signal chain.
It will allow you to not amplify up to 1.5 octaves of what you hear.
This lets a cabinet with not as much low end compete with much larger cabinets. You will need good upper bass and midrange in your cabinet, with good dispersion for MaxxBass to work its best.

Peavey has advertised MaxxBass in it's DSP model of amps.

If you're not wanting to use the software plugin. You can get a small hardware version from Waves for $40, it can go into an effects loop.
