Here’s one more item for you, the last in our c*v*cs book: R*ghts. Boy, everyone in this c**ntry is always running around yammering about their f*****g r*ghts. I have a r*ght, you have no r*ght, we have a r*ght, they don’t have a r*ght… Folks, I hate to spoil your fun but-there’s no such thing as r*ghts, okay? They’re imaginary. We made them up! Like the Boogie Man… the Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, Mother Goose, sh*t like that. R*ghts are an idea, they’re just imaginary, they are a cute idea, cute… but that’s all, cute, and fictional. But if you think you do have r*ghts, let me ask you this, where do they come from? People say, well, they come from G*d, they’re G*d-given r*ghts… Aw f**k, here we go again… here we go again. [laughing] The G*d excuse. The last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument, it came from G*d. Anything we can’t describe, must have come from G*d.

I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but, while doing sound for them once in a tiny dive bar in the late 80’s, I dozed off for a bit. Absolutely NO fault on their part, I had too many bands/late nights in a row there that week, plus my day job. This place was a classic 40’s/50’s gin mill, long and narrow, and I set my board and FX rack up in the back booth(a little too comfy, perhaps), with one of the mains up on the bar at the end closest to the “stage”(how punk rock is that?). Anyway, they were brilliant.

Can't blame you for that... I did see them live, but in retrospect I regret missing them several of the times they came through town.
On the off chance someone read this far through the thread and doesn't like the usual punk rock sound, it's worth checking out Nomeansno's earlier album Mama. With just drums bass and keyboard, lot of it wouldn't sound out of place in a jazz club (aside from the subject matter of the vocals)
