It's not too late! They still play out. I know they're well into their 60s, and Billy Zoom has to sit on a stool after battling cancer. But I saw them most recently in 2019 and I swear they still sounded great.

Saw them last in ‘19 as well, they played in the rain; here’s Exene at the merch table afterward…

My mid-'90s band did three tours with Candy Snatchers .. mayhem every night, even when we played to the empty chairs!

Gotta give a shout out to these guys…they got lost in the shuffle, even though they were part of the CBGB’s scene, but were a little too early for the movement, and their first label didn’t know what to do with them. Nobody could quite figure out if they were hard rock, metal, or punk. Still, a bunch of wisenheimers very much like the Ramones, plus you get the fabulous Handsome Dick…

The UK Subs are still one of the coolest bands from that era. They could have been legit rock stars, they were pretty well respected and legit musicians/writers. Guns N’ Roses has even covered their songs.
