I don't have one but i like 'em! post all ya' got!
Labeled as "Trans black", it really does have a purple characteristic to it
My Benavente 51 model.
Actually, the color changes from blue to red depending on the angle of the light. Indoors it's usually blue, but outdoors it's usually purple.
It got some major damage when one of my guitar players dropped it and the treble knob caved into the control area. I got it fixed by G&L, but there's still lots of wood showing in that area. They couldn't repaint it since it's a discontinued color, unfortunately. However, it's still my favorite and #1 no matter how it looks. I guess you can call it "relic'ed" now.
Purple with an ebony fretboard is just plain awesome.
I can't see it, so I doubt the audience can, nice bass
Unless of course it's round the back
I have two purple yamahas. A 4 string RBX270 and the 6 string RBXJM2. Unfortunately I have no pictures of these basses and if I did I don't have a clue as how to post them!
Lets see some nice purpleheart if anyone has any?
The guy in Prince's band The Revolution had that pruple Jazz with black block inlays that looked pretty cool. I can't find any pix though.
i have the 20th anniversary purple yamaha billy sheehan attitude buuuuuuuut i cant get the pictures to work..... real nice color but its got some sharpie on it
That's because that image is before the damage.
See this thread to see what it looked like after the damage but before being fixed. I always forget to take a picture of it after it's fixed, but just think of it as smoother without the knob sunk inward. It's still beautiful in my eyes.
Oh you naughty little monkey! Is that one of yours?
Not a great pic, but heres my Purpleburst Tanglewood Rebel 4K.
Here is my purple monster. It weighs more than my T-40 but the tone is worth the weight. This picture makes it look more blue but it is grape purple.
I clicked on this thread out of morbid curiosity, but I must admit this one is sweet. Seems like you would want a matching hot rod to drive to gigs. I would.
A real nice purple bass:
is that one not red?
That's just what I was thinking.
Gorgeous instrument, regardless.
Ken, that 51 has THE coolest paint job I have ever seen!
Meet "The Senator"...
