Purple Basses!

Labeled as "Trans black", it really does have a purple characteristic to it

It got some major damage when one of my guitar players dropped it and the treble knob caved into the control area. I got it fixed by G&L, but there's still lots of wood showing in that area. They couldn't repaint it since it's a discontinued color, unfortunately. However, it's still my favorite and #1 no matter how it looks. I guess you can call it "relic'ed" now.

Purple with an ebony fretboard is just plain awesome.

I can't see it, so I doubt the audience can, nice bass :)
Unless of course it's round the back :ninja:

That's because that image is before the damage. :)

See this thread to see what it looked like after the damage but before being fixed. I always forget to take a picture of it after it's fixed, but just think of it as smoother without the knob sunk inward. It's still beautiful in my eyes.

My Benavente 51 model.

Actually, the color changes from blue to red depending on the angle of the light. Indoors it's usually blue, but outdoors it's usually purple.

I clicked on this thread out of morbid curiosity, but I must admit this one is sweet. Seems like you would want a matching hot rod to drive to gigs. I would.

Very nice.

Ken, that 51 has THE coolest paint job I have ever seen!
