I currently have a Dan Electro Longhorn Fretless Bass with vintage EMGs (This's things kinda old) and i'm thinking about fixing it up a bit (electronics, etc). While I'm at it, i figure that i might as well put fret markings on it (so i can play the notes more accurately and still have the fretless sound). How may i go about doing this?

Putting Fret markings on a fretless

Totally blank neck? At music stores, they usually sell colored strips that stick to your board for fret markers.

Side dots and keep playing and listening to the notes you play. If you have good pitch recognition, you won't concentrate on your eyes to play properly.
If you don't have good pitch recognition, the markers won't help much. Being off the mark by a fraction of an inch will be audible to everyone else.

it's just that on my fretless, i can't play the right note half the time, but a fretless five-string acoustic with side markings that i played in jersey gave me totally different results
