They're two different pedals. The Phat Phuck is a boost and while there is some tonal difference it's really minimal. Though, I thought I read you could adjust the trim pots but it isn't recommended. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The Dark Driving on the other hand is an overdrive that is meant to be tweaked. So there are more tonal options then you'd think. You just have to open it up, adjust the trim pots, close it up and set the volume knob to your liking. For me, I tend not to adjust much once I find what I'm looking for so it isn't a big deal... But if you're a knob turner it would be a little more difficult.

For bass I love my DL4, having 3 presets and a tap tempo is great. the 3 presets change quite abit, but for the most part I have 2 digital delay settings, one for ambient string scratching stuff or end of song ring out ****, and the other with less repeats for riffs higher up on the fretboard and I always have a volume swell set, and use it HEAPS.

Classy. Delay is really starting to be an 'always on' for me. The volume swell thing I haven't figured out though. What kind if settings do you use?

Also, I don't know if this works with a delay pedal, but it did with Audacity. I'd set the delay time to almost zero, like lower than slapback. On a recorded track, it makes for weird metallic industrial noises.

Well, its an option on the DL4's delay options, and you adjust attack time etc to taste. its an awesome option to have, and like I said I use it alot, probably more often than the digital delays. It can easily be achieved with a single stompbox delay and a volume pedal!! Sometimes I wish I had that set up, the auto volume swell's sensitivity can be quite unpredictable at times, you have to be pretty precise with your picking and fret work.

Interesting... did it thicken up your tone at all? I've thought about doing similar things...

Nice boards up in here so far. A few changes for mine since the last thread. I got a BF-2 and an E-bow and moved everything around etc.

The Ebow is fun but I still needs more practice with it. It would be nice if they considered a bass model or even a set of clip on "wings" designed for bass string spacing.

Need to get a volume pedal. On the higher frets I can use the xero to get something close though.

Swells are really something I like. Need something like a slow gear. Or reverb. It makes for nice swells when done right.

The delay didn't really thicken it too much. It just made for industrial noises. I mostly used it to make drums sound more interesting.

holy CRAP i'm an idiot. i was having some weird problems with my B3k. like, it was just working like a kill switch weird. took it off my board, works fine. start to put it back (i have it turned on it's side so it fits on the bottom thin yarea of the PT-Pro), can feel my face going all puzzled, then slack with realization, then closed eyes ready for a facepalm in embarrassment. had to check the pic i took on my phone to be sure.

had it turned backwards. so i was plugging into the output and sending the input on. as the first pedal in my signal chain. i am SMART.

Hell Ben, I think we've all done that. I once did that will six units at once. All of my pedals were done right, but I plugged them all into their MIDI switchers backwards. Took me a whole day to figure it out :hmm:
