PYPB 38: When 'a few' just isn't enough...

Keeping it simple. Lots of tonal options on this little board.

Nice! Whats the yellow pedal inbetween the OC2 and the Line6?

Also, just curious how you use the LS2 with this setup ...?

Thanks!!

The Yellow guy is a Montreal Assembly CA Ring Mod

Here is the signal chain:

Bass->LS-2 (A<->B)>TU-2->Amp
  • Loop A (Main Loop with Feedback Loop): FEALabs OptiFET>OC-2>Supercollider>Shiva>Utter Stutter (Feedback Loop)
  • Feedback Loop: 105B Bass MuRF>Wolf Computer>Wrong Side of Uranus
  • Loop B (Delay Loop): CA Ring Mod>Drasp Modded Line 6 DL-4 (it's blue but it isn't an MM4)

I use the LS-2 so I can have more control over the volume of the Delay Loop as well as be able set the tap tempo on the Delay Loop before switching over to it.

Currently I only am able to delay the ring mod and clean.

My planned revamp:

Bass->Compy->"Noisemakers"->LS-2 (A->Bypass)->TU-2->Amp.

I'll put the DL4 into loop A so I can control the volume and set tempo before "injecting" the delay into the signal. That will give me the ability to be able to cascade all the noisemakers into the delay. To clarify,...the Drasp Mod on the DL4 does clear up some volume loss experienced on stock units,...and it does that fine. Even still I don't like when the trails get buried, which is just a function of it being a delay, and the "Mix" knob can be a bit limited. I like having the extra volume control.

I may experiment with an old BOSS CS-2 Compressor I have floating around in the delay loop to try and limit the extra output from the delay. It can get a bit unruly. I'm not entirely sold on that idea though.

I also considered putting the MuRF into loop B so I can set tap tempo on that as well (via a BOSS FS-6). I'll try it but I'm not totally sold on that idea either.

The MuRF is in a weird spot on my board. It is tough for me to access.

Pretty happy with this set up, especially now that I received my Randy's Revenge. The only changes I can see happening would be adding a filter at some point. I'm messing around with a WMD SuperFatMan at the moment but I'm still not quite sure its what I'm looking for.

I dig it. Defo some similarities between yours and mine.

BOSS OC-2 Octaver
A modded Line6....I assume it's a Drasp Modded DL4 (the knob on the side looks like his work).

Kudos

I'm totally getting the Juan Alderete vibe :)
A fan? (I'm a huge huge fan so you get mad thumbs up from me)
