That Cali is big, but I'm intrigued... how does it compare, say to the Boss LMB-3, if you can compare ?

Not familiar at all with the Cali, other than its a limiter, big and not all that present on pedalboards around here. But now, you've got me more intrigued.

It is night and day compared to a boss, and pretty much every compressor in the 100-200$ range and beyond. You have to try one to believe it

The one you want is definitely the Cali76-TX (transformer version). They have some pricier ones with the Lundhal transformer and one limited edition with a boost. But, the normal TX is just fine.

I watched that video earlier while doing something else, and was surprised by how often, when the bass sounded particularly good and made me turn to look at the screen, that the pedal was actually off. Either I'm weird and just don't like compressors (or that compressor, at least), or it's just the guy's "here's a reminder of how my clean tone sounds" playing that is more to my taste.

The thing about compressors is that how you set it is extremely personal. You have to try it and filled with all the knobs yourself to see if you even like it with your own setup.

Then, some people don't like using compressors at all

Was there a clean signal? I understood it was Cali+DI on the other speaker and Cali+Amp on the other. Did like the Cali+DI a lot more than the amp version.
