Super nice boards......I have a simple question. Do you guys prefer the 3leaf Enabler, over some of the others on the market? I love the Aguilar TH, but hate the size and design. I would think that the features on the Enabler would be more used.....that's just an opinion, I haven't tried one.

I knew I was going to like it, but it is better than I expected. At low gain it just adds a perfect little something.

I like the Enabler because it is pretty much transparent. In some ways, it's almost just like an EQ + DI + Headphone Amp. I got it for the headphone amp mostly. I don't use it for the headphone amp much these days but it is a great pre/eq that I leave always on. Definitely would not be good for adding some more character or dirt like a TH or B7K or other such preamp.

I had been watching that Orange JohnK posted up that you have, but you beat me to it. What's your opinion on that beast? I do love the grit on the AGTH, but not the layout/size.

Well, I think it basically gives you the Orange sound in a great way. No low end loss, amazing OD gain. It will breakup quickly, just like an Orange amp. It does not have a DI however so it will not completely replace an AGTH. But, wow, the sound, he tone!

Again, the TH is probably more flexible but the Orange preamp has an amazing tone. But, as you can see my board has plenty of other dirt for different sounds.

I guess I am really not objective on this right now, not at all

I leave for a little while (year and a half?) and I come back to see all these shiny new things I've never heard of and everybody and their brother with these fancy etched enclosures... I'm so out of the loop now. I guess I'll be spending the rest of the week researching how to blow all of my money.

Anyhow, I have made a few slight changes since PYPB 41, I think. Added the Micro POG and took off a FuzzHugger Chalice and an Electronix Mess Drive Hybrid+. I still haven't decided what to do with those. I think it's time to renew the supporting memebership...

Honest question guys - why put a microthumpinator at the beginning of you chain? It seems like a waste of nearly 2 bills.

I completely understand the use for it at the end, or maybe after an octaver to pass usable signal to other touchy pedals, but the beginning?

Are you playing in a drop tuning on a 5 string

Either way the sub content doesn't make it to the amp.

No that's where you're wrong, as subcontent could still make it to the amp if you use effects that create it after the thump. That's my point. Your bass isn't putting out sub 30hz freqs

I would put it at the end- but the people putting it at the beginning could be trying to avoid distorting preamp-type pedals (it would have to be a close call in the first place) or at least tighten them up. Or keep their dirt sounds tight. I doubt it would be a night and day difference in this regard, but could be useful for some people- consider the difference between a b3k/b7k in fat mode vs. raw mode, something along those lines.

My latest, greenhouse delay gone for now, replaced by a little yellow Musket, was not using the delay much...
Have kept it though.
Could fit it on, but I like a little space between each pedal...

That's the beauty of the MThump, you can put it wherever you want and others can put it wherever they want...

I mean if nearly all bass note fundamentals are above 30hz, I'm lead to believe people spend money on things they don't quite understand. I'm taking specifically about those placing it at the beginning.

Sure you can put it anywhere, that doesn't necessarily mean it's helping. You can put an flip flop anywhere on your pedal board too.

But, hey, maybe I'm missing something.

Does your board serve double duty for keys?

If not, do you feel like you hear a difference with it at the beginning?

What would it take to convince you to move it elsewhere on your board

Your bass can in fact put out sub frequencies below the fundamental. It has to do with the design of the bass, etc.

Given that is the case, there are situations in which you would want to "clean up" the signal going into an octaver, etc. That's the argument for putting it first.

I don't own one, FWIW, though I would love to try one.

Yes, if you look at the graphs on the sfx website, you can see what it cleans out from the signal. There is the possibility you for quite the subsonic content in there. I'll see if I can get some spectrum analyzer tool to get come graphs together. Although, this would probably be best in another thread

QUESTION JACKING. i think it's.... okay. the bit crushing is a horrible useless white noise mess, but the sample rate reducing is decent. it doesn't have the widest range, but what it has is useful.

a Malekko Bit or Bug Crusher would do the same thing better x1000, but they're kinda a butt touch to track down.

You jacking jackal. Yeah, what you've had to say is pretty much the only info I've gathered. Would you say the destroyer in the Mobius outperforms the Lofi? If so I'll probs just hold off on the mooer. I do like those little guys, but I'm so enamored by presets and pedals doing lots of things lately I can't justify keeping them around.

lol. yeah. the Destroyer CRUSHES the Mooer. the Mooer's not horrible, it's just not as awesome as some other options. but it is super cheap and available. so.... yurrrrrr. trade offs.

plus. you know. Mobius has butt loads of other good stuff.
