PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

CAE8C7A5-D5FA-41E4-9646-845D3D7C470B.jpeg

For bass and synth. Bass through one h9 and input of hxs. Synth through 2nd h9 and into fx return.
Out to one or two amps depending on the volume needed. Record through usb - computer and headphones for silent practice.

Threw together two quick and hasty demos, but it's better than nothing. I kick in both phasers with the settings I typically use on them. The Lillian is in 4-stage mode to start. When you hear a little more jet/flanger-ish throaty woosh happening, that's the 6-stage mode on the Lillian. For both I'm just doing some slow knob twiddling with the depth, feedback, etc. Each one is mostly clean bass going in, then you hear the MBD-2 kick in for some light OD, and then I switch to a SUF Civil Unrest for the fuzz sounds at the end.

I've been tossing up the GO vs MXR phase 95 vs Ross phaser. I have a SGFX Apollo II and Subdecay Quasar for fancy sounds am but looking for something simpler for my dirt board, chewy enough for a funky slow deep phase clean as well as with dirt. I have a phase 95 on the way but have been on the fence about the GO as I've read that it's a bit more subtle/dark. Sounds great here with the CU!

Finally made some changes to Spaceball One. Moved the tuner to the "tuner out" from my rigs and I added the Boss SY-1 and Boss EV-30 Dual Expression to the board. I can control the SY-1 and my 3Leaf setup with a single expression pedal. Not at the same time, but it makes for a space saver and an overall good time. :D Waiting on a few new flat patch cables to finalize positions.

The best part about the EV-30 Dual Expression is the "minimum" knob. Take the SY-1 for example - you find a particular setting has a great sound, but you want to control only a small portion of the sweep of the tone/rate knob (lets use 12:00-3:00). Toe down and you set the maximum with the tone/rate knob on the SY-1 (3:00); Toe up and set the minimum with the "minimum" knob on the EV-30 (12:00). Now the EV-30 can control just that 12:00-3:00 range using the entire sweep of the foot. Makes for massive pad swells, more precise control of the sequencers, you get the idea.. Me likey.

Yeah, it's a bit thicker and meatier compared to most, but I don't hear it as dark. Plus the sweep and resonance will make it pretty swirly and in your face when you crank them.

Thanks so much for this. I dig em both but these give th GO the edge IMO.

I swapped out my Proton v2 for a v3. Maybe it's just me, but it seems less subtle than v2 and reacts to my bass a lot better. I also got a Saturnworks volume looper for the B:ASSMASTER. Now that it essentially gives the pedal a volume knob it makes it that much more awesome.

And with that, I'm officially out of room... Unless I turn the VTBDI sideways, then maybe I can get another nano pedal of some sort.. Or take it off the board and sit it on my amp. Hmmm... But what do I really need that I don't already have? Feel free to be a bad influence and make suggestions lol

BTW, I think I'm a Barefoot Button addict..

V3 is based on the chromatron, v2 is not.

Did a board reshuffle tonight. Nothing crazy going on with this board but it's a great gigging board which I can use ampless, driving a Powered K12 or into my Quilter BB800. G50 might go at some point for a delay but haven't decided.
Sequence is G50 - Cave passive HPF (underneath) - Tuner - BSW - LS-2 (with 60B in loop) - Comp - VT BD - GEB-7. All powered by a Strymon Ojai
VT BD is set up so I like how the presets sound in the FOH then the 1/4 out to the EQ allows me to adjust on stage.
It's a homemade board about the size of a PT Jr. White strip is my fave setting for each mode of the BSW. Cabling is a little chaotic by my standards - but it's late here and I'm working in the morning. :)

Someone school me on Broughton please.

They are awesome sounding and very well made and engineered small batch pedals, and sell in the blink of an eye.

Buy when In Stock is key. In Stock time is typically measured in minutes.

Seriously though, any questions you have about them?

Website is at https://www.broughtonaudio.com/

Anyone have a v7 green Russian Muff on their board?
Anyone rehouse it into a smaller enclosure?

What's your fav "clone"? I've never found one that sounds better than a tall or bubble font.
Maybe there's something new I haven't seen.

Show me whatcha got!

I know his stuff isnt super popular from a morals point but I have a JHS muffeletta that has a few settings that are nice on bass. I use it mostly for guitar but used they arent terrible and if you dont love it you should be able to resell it for what you paid assuming you paid a fair price.

Sanford & Sonny Bluebeard- So far the king of muff style fuzz pedals I've tried.

Under the I haven't personally tried, but would like to, and have heard good things about catagory:
Wren and Cuff Tall Front Russian
Stomp Under Foot Green Russian, Civil Unrest, and Red Menace.
Also the JHS Muffuletta Cosmicevan mentioned.
