Replaced my OC-2 with the Octabvre and upgraded from my classic jr to a PT-2

still waiting on a hinged riser so I can stick my Korg AX300b underneath the top row, but this will have to do for rehearsals in the meantime

After a long hiatus, I decided to build myself a pedalboard again:



Signal chain is just:
BASS > Line 6 HX Stomp > OUTPUT

The Darkglass Alpha Omicron sits in the HX Stomp's effects loop for modular placement in the signal path. Meanwhile, the Dunlop DVP5 is used as an expression pedal for the HX Stomp. I might eventually add a Darkglass Hyper Luminal before the HX Stomp, and I still need to solve the power problem (looking at a few different isolated output supplies) but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the streamlined elegance of this setup.

It's honestly the most compact board I've ever assembled - yet also one of the most tonally capable. It covers most of the ground my old boards did, but also offers a wide range of new and different possibilities - including its utility as a fly rig. If I need more quick-change options on-tap in the future, I can always add a compact MIDI controller.

Small change; swapped my standard HPF for the Always-On version, now underneath the board. This opens up the space for my main pedal ambition of the year, a Xerograph Deluxe! A 125B-sized pedal wouldn't have fit where the Funk Machine is now, with the HPF being up there. And, having learned over time that I'm mostly using the BitQuest for flanger, reverb, or glitch delay (assumed there'd be more bit crusher use), I'll swap its position with the XD. Putting filter before mod/time effects makes more sense, I think.

I don't remember if I posted this… I'm streamlining my board for faster set up at gigs. I put an RC5 on my board to replace my pigtronics looper, which I move to my synth.

small board big attitude. Took out the COG R-1 from the equation and slapped this 4 essentials in their original Nano board. powered by a DC5 this thing breathes fire at a small footprint. pardon the settings as its been moved due to transport.

Thank you. thats a F bass BN5 w/ a northern ash body. red vertical fade with black grain enhanced. macassar ebony fretboard w/ red exotic wood block inlays. yes sir cog definitely makes killer pedals.

Has been quite some time since I posted in this topic. Photo showing the wah was what I was using a couple of months ago. The I re-jigged it a bit. The one without the wah is my current setup. I still use the wah, just didn't need it for what I was working on last night. Also shown are my Studiologic 113 midi pedals and a Behringer Toro synth.... for the whomp! I don't think I qualify as a "tidy board" owner.

Haha, no, you would probably give everyone in the Tidy thread a heart attack... but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a lotta fun using that bass station!

Flea....mmmmm........ how about my main rig is GK set up? Flea used to use the 2001RB with a 410RB stacked on a 115RB and then 3 or 4 stacks of them. I had 2 stacks of them about 15 years ago.

The midi pedals and the Toro are a lot of fun. Simple to use, very one dimensional but that sound......!

landed an ampeg SGT-di and slapped it on a Nano plus board powered by a truetone one spot pro. aside from dialing in, A painters tape is needed to dim out on some LED's.

I am not an effects expert whatsoever, but after screwing around with different pedals over the past few years I think I finally figured out something decent for Classic Rock/Metal/Doom. (Tone knob settings subject to change.)

Bass>Freqout>NS-2(Send>TU-3>Big Muff>Hell Melter>Cry Baby>Hot Tubes>Return)>Cloak>amp. My normal jam sound is the Hellmelter into the Hot Tubes.

That's one of those boards that makes me want to hear some sounds. Oh... pro tip: fingernail polish for dimming LEDs. And of course fingernail polish remover if you change your mind (or rubbing alcohol).

And by PRO I mean a PRO at fingernail polish - not at playing bass. What can I say... I know a lot of chicks.

Yo brother @1OHM, whats up? like the last time i will upload a soundclip on my IG darkhalf7 on my day off . Like you, aside from being a combat vet, i am also a 2nd amendment enthusiast and collector (like you) so if im not jammin with my bands or spending time with my fam or working 2 jobs, i spend alot of time on the range or on the field. but i will upload and will let you know. The nail polish is also a brilliant idea but i like the painters tape bec its easier to put on and take off specially i like to move things around as i have 7 pedalboards at the moment and i used evry single one depending on what band im sessioning for or what music were jammin with. heres the boards i have currently and the rig collection. i just got the ampeg SVT lately too as i missed my 70s ampeg that is sold. the bass collection is another story and the boomsticks collection pics is never allowed in this thread so that another story as well lol. i have a couple pedals on the way too so the placements on the board are nevwr permanent (except for the noble/Cali 3leaf board thats permanent placement) have a great weekend man. cheers to mpre gears and keep safe. cheers!
