PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

@darkhalf @1OHM Have either of you gents considered the following for damping LEDs? I have a couple pedals that greatly benefit from this, and they are a little more subtle than tape :)

I see this link isn't for an item actively for sale, but the Rockboard LED Damper is definitely a thing still in existence!

Oh this is nice sir. i need to get one of these.this dampers looks like the LEDs on the origin cali76 and looks nice. Thank you for the suggestion. Cheers

its looks like a nice tool to dim out the leds sir. if you are not in the states reverb and ebay has some sellers that might ship internationally. amazon have other sellers too but im
not sure if they do international shipping. Cheers.

Yeah... I was a TACP for 8 years so you can imagine what my gun cabinets look like. Boomsticks outnumber my pedals at this point - haha. I'm trying to grow up but I've seen adults and I'm not impressed. :) I have fewer basses than ever in life and I am happy with that, and for some reason it's easier for me to slim down on basses. YOU'RE A MADMAN with the pedals... but considering my cameras/cars/guns collection looks like your pedal collection I'll shut up. Haha. Life is short - make yourself happy.

@sloppy_phil I'd never seen that product. I might give it a shot but they might be a little to gaudy looking for me. If I had the skills every pedal I own would be flat black and subdued, so those jewel looking covers might not work for me. But they are cheap enough to try. :)

same here bro lol i was a boomstick collector years even before i joined the army. i started collecting at 20 and im 46 now so …. and my parents and alot in fam are seals and airborne mostly did more than 20 yrs so i grew up in a loud and banging househols lol i dont want to disclose what i have but if im a madman with pedals i certainly went overboard with my boomsticks too althou i live at cali so i dint post alot of my boomstivks om sociall media . i dont have have any cool suppressed stuff and always cali compliant but none of them are ugly for sure lol im a HK and sig boi lol keep safe man and have a hopd weekemd

One thing I like about your gear Dr. Hooper is it looks used. I have a SERIOUS problem with things that look new. I have so much of a problem with it that I took a mint Sony A7iii and aged it ( some might say by "aging" it I destroyed it ) :



When you shoot street photos in some of the places I do, you don't show up with "shinny new stuff" if you want to gain the trust of the locals.

In other news... SA C4 arrived ( thanks @Snake101st ), SA Collider arrived, Pirate MIDI Bridge 4 arrived. So, stay tuned for the new layout on my R&D board. If I like the sounds I think I'll be ready to move this kit from my R&D/audition board to the actual board.

I didn't realize just how much dog hair is on the board atm. Time for cleaning and reorganization anyway.
C4 has a bit of a learning curve, but worth the effort. Mine initially replaced an OC2, Envelope Phaser, and Mutron III, but I've since found so many useful sounds, and utility, it's a keeper.
Looking forward to pics of the new board:hyper:

It's a pretty straight forward fender style pre. I've wanted a Nobel, but the Nobelium popped up at about 1/9th the price, and I like making things.
I built it stock with 12au7's, and it's very clean, even pushed with the SBM. For the project I'm using it for, it's pretty ideal. Passive fretless frankenjazz with Roadhouse custom pups, thru the board to the fx return of a TH700/ BB3 or Phil Jones 27, playing simple country tunes.

The SBM gives me a bit 'console' color, and a bunch of gain to play with (really surprising how hard I can push the Nobelium without distortion), and it feels like it has a bit of compression baked in. Push the 23Fe with enough signal, and it starts to saturate, adding more compression, and harmonic content. Pile all that into the Nobelium, and I get a very warm and dynamic tone, perfect for this project.
Understand, each element is very subtle; I could likely get pretty close, tone-wise with just the TH700 and it's drive knob, and a bit of eq, but this just "feels" so much more organic, living, breathing.

Thanks my friend. You are correct about the finish on the slampegg. That finish is wild and I'm a little surprised at how good it looks in that image.
