PYPB XL: Midlife Crisis

Switched out the Dispatch Master for the Disaster Transport whilst the lady plays with the Dispatch and decides if she can live without the Reverberator (not likely).

Anyways... This board looks more bad-ass with the Transport, but I'm gonna get another Dispatch Master if the other stays on the guitar board. It just jives with my bass/guitar setup so well... Still, the Transport is really nice, and it sounds better on the bass board than the guitar board anyway.

Still getting to know the El Oso. So far, I like it best with the B3K and Dispatch/Transport (delayverb).
Almost boulders in a cauldron, almost...

I'm really happy with this setup.
The Bluebeard > Tall Font Russian > B3K combo is just nasty.

Just updated and finished my pedal board! Really happy with everything here!

The signal chain (in order) is:
Bass
(hidden) JHS Little Black Buffer
Electro-Faustus Photo-Theremin
3Leaf Audio PWNZOR Optical Compressor
ZVex Ringtone
Earthquaker Devices Organizer
Foxrox Octron (covered in Green Bay duct tape)
Fuzzrocious Dark Driving
Fuzzrocious Demon King (tattoo)
Fuzzrocious Grey Stache (kid-paint)
Fuzzrocious Terrordactyl
Pigtronix Envelope Phaser
Analogman Bi-Chorus
Earthquaker Rainbow Machine
Thru-Tone Modded Volume Pedal - tuner out to Polytune
Fuzzrocious custom faux-reverb/tremolo (Spidermanatee)
3Leaf Audio Enabler

It does everything I want, a few of the pedals are just for fun/noise/ambient stuff (theremin, ringtone, rainbow machine). But other than that, the bass tones this command center produces are amazing! Thanks for letting me share!

Here goes: my first "pedal board". As you can see, I am definitely working on a budget here.

I found the briefcase at a garage sale for $1. The board is what's left of an old entertainment center that I cut up. The ODB-3 was a Christmas present, M-80 was bought used, the chorus and tuner were bought on a clearance deal. Hey, you have to work with what you've got, right?

Hey guys, this is my first post to this forum. I've been a lurker for some time and realized that I'd love some feedback on how to improve this board. This week's signal chain is:

Boss TU-2 Tuner > Source Audio Bass Envelope Filter > Empress Compressor > EBS Octabass > Boss BF-3 Flanger > Akai Deep Impact > Eventide Space > MXR M169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay

(Ampeg Mute/Channel Footswitch > Amp)
(Boss FV-500L Used As Expression Pedal For Eventide Space)

Solid! me wants that impact :hiding:

Also, sell me on a looper - I need more GAS in my life.

Also, sell me on a looper - I need more GAS in my life.

EDIT: I typed everything below first ... and ONLY THEN realized you probably meant "looper" in terms of capturing and repeating song segments. I was obviously thinking in terms of effects loop pedals. Maybe it's useful advice regardless! LOL

I was going to mention that when I saw your first post as I've really been thinking about my own board and trying to better understand true-bypass vs. buffered pedals. I've always fallen into the camp of "true bypass is good" and "buffered pedals are bad".

This article made it clearer to me: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I have all true bypass pedals so I currently have a Radial Big Shot EFX loop which allows me to keep my signal path shorter when not using certain pedal. If I activate a loop, a pedal is obviously on, and thereby acting as a buffer. The plus with the Radial Big Shot EFX pedal is that it's passive, true bypass, and requires no power. A big downside is there is a noticeable "pop" when using it. I'm getting the way more expensive Radial Loopbone, with is also true bypass, but uses some kind a "Class-A circuitry" (whatever that means) to eliminate the "pop".

I think where you have your Boss pedals placed (which are buffered) is ideal. True test is to listen to the tone through your board with all pedals off, then plug straight into the amp and compare.

Absolutely CP, it IS great advice regardless. I read that article twice a few weeks ago, and it made me re-think the placement of several pedals, especially my tuner and flanger. This current iteration sounds pretty clean to my ears, although I've never experimented with putting certain effects in a loop to shorten my signal chain - a concept that still seems a bit too complicated to me.

That said, my original request was indeed for a looper that will let me capture and repeat song segments. I've looked at everything from the TC Flashback to the Strymon Timeline, but I'm having a hard time making up my mind. I think that the Flashback would be sufficient for most of my needs, but I feel like Eventide Space > Timeline (or vice versa) would be sick. Thoughts?

The max value of your volume pedal is Paragon and the minimum is Renegade?
Good job Spectre!
