PYPB XL: Midlife Crisis

I "streamlined" my board. I think I'm sticking with this for awhile. At least until I can pony up for a vintage microtubes. I've been rocking this set up for a while now and I'm starting to feel comfortable enough to be really expressive with the effects without stepping on any toes.

And just because I'm so happy to finally have my dream rig. This is what I will be running it through...

Figured I'd post one as I haven't for well over a year! I doubt anyone remember, but my pedal board has shrunk significantly since my last post. Got rid of all the 'effect' type pedals and now only use a compressor and one of my dirt pedals at a time. May replace the compressor at some point (thinking a TLC) but very content with how this is right now..

I'm lovin' this setup! How are you powering it?

I've been debating on downsizing from a PT-Jr but that means I would have to: a) get rid of 4 pedals! and b) find an efficient way to power the thing.

I'm drooling...truly a beautiful board.

had this entire thing taken apart for some studio work, so it's nice to have the board back together and ready for live use

Looks like I haven't posted a picture here lately. My board doesn't change much anymore, half of this stuff has been on there for years. Occasionally swap out the Super Bass Fuzz for something else, but it always ends up right back where it belongs: post-Assmaster.

Still buy pedals of course. I mean why the hell not? Shut up, that's why.

Here's a little sip of some tall drink of awesome!

bass+board+130228.jpg

in (relay) > Schism > Microtubes B3K > VP-Jr > Dispatch Master > BMC > Submarine Designer > out (relay)

Schism ch1: Bluebeard > Tall Font Russian
Schism ch2: Unpleasant Surprise > Bottom Feeder > Compact Faye Sing

a Source Audio Dual Expression pedal controls the Faye Sing (not shown).

Sub D is on all the time
B3K is on about half the time
Dispatch Master is on most of the time
BMC is on sometimes, usually to add a little boost around 200-300Hz

I added the VP-Jr to the board again, this time to facilitate delay/reverb trails. I used to use it at the end, off board, to control the overall volume. I've seen a lot of boards online with the volume/expression pedals in the middle, so I thought I'd give it a try since last time the VP was on the far right.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Ditto Looper (and my tax return). Then the amp-mute/eq switch (small black two buttoned thing next to the Schism) will be moved above the VP-Jr. I don't really use it that much, so it can take up the free space there.

Glad you dig it! I actually downsized from a PT-2 to that. Honestly, I'm not missing any of the effect pedals at all.

I'm powering it with a 1 Spot wall-wart system and a daisy chain, provides more than enough power for a little set-up like that (especially since I'm never using more than two pedals at a time). Also, it's a lot less hassle for my girlfriend to carry into gigs for me :p

Was talking to a buddy about buying a looper to mess around with and he offered to give me his. I normally feel weird accepting hand outs, be he assured me he never uses it. Having lots of fun with it so far.

Hey dudes. Seriously late to the game... 1st post on this PYPB thread.

Some pics from our show on Friday night featuring my set up having moved from the one huge 2-tier board, to a pair of Diago Showman boards. This is quite reduced in terms of live set up for me. (check the lovely 32" scale Roscoe LG too - YUM!).

Nicely done!

I think I'll be getting the Pedaltrain Volto once I get the Mini.
