I'm quickly running out of projects the "need" to be done around the house, and all my gigs are cancelled, so I decided to make a pickguard for my Lakland 55-01! I'm not a natural finish guy by itself, so this was my attempt to dress her up nicely... and the little black dress doesn't disappoint!
I did a couple scratch drawings taking inspiration from a J-pickguard with bits of the Jeannie's design that's floating around. And with as rare as those are, this was easier (and cheaper, more on that later). Once I had a sketch I liked, I transferred it, cut it, and stuck her on with double sided tape. I love the matte finish look!
It's not finished, there needs to be some tweaks made to certain tolerances here and there, but not bad for a first run.
Here's the fun part. I've intentionally left the material out of the description, I figure if this gets enough interest, I'll share the dirty secret!
