Question about buying certian basses...

Hello there. Im new to TB. To get to the point I had a question about how to try out and buy certain models/types of basses. Ive been eying the Rickenbacker Model 4004Cii/5 ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]). I googled and ebayed it...Nothing.

I also have been eying the Rickenbacker 4000 in a color called "Turquoise Glow" (Link Removed). They apparently discontinued that color in 2003.

So to wrap it up, where would I go to buy a bass this specific?

Good luck. Rickenbacker produces much less than the market demand, which means dealers take pre-orders and the basses go directly to the person who pre-ordered. Retailers will order standard popular models and colors for their store stock, but they will never order an exotic model or color just to have in the store.

Your best hope is that some TB'er near Columbus happens to have one you can try. Also, check the www.rickresource.com forum.

Discontinued colors are discontinued.

Thanks. Yeah I am cursed with wanting basses in colors that are no longer available. i.e music man stingray in trans teal

Looking for a specific brand/model/color can take years. Get something else while you are looking.

Rickenbacker doesnt currently make a five string.

Available finishes are Fireglo, Jetglo, Midnight Blue, and Mapleglo. If you want a 4004 you can get transparent blue, red and green.
