Question about used strings! please HELP

Hi!
Recently a friend has given me his bass guitar. It's a cheap one. but the strings are very nice D'Addarios and he used the strings for two months. is it OK to use the strings for my bass? I have a Warwick Corvette $$. May applying a set of used strings of another bass have any bad effects on my dear Corvette?

Thank you 3234718! the string are long scale D'Addario, with .045/.065/.080/.100/.130 for their gauge. my bass is a long scale one and the string are long enough, but I'm not sure if the other bass is even a standard one. It's a very low quality Chinese instrument.

... and maybe be aware of any creases that are in the strings, such as if the previous was a string thru body or at the witness points that will be between the saddles and nut on your bass, or if a strange bridge type was used ...
