Question for Cure Fans...

Guys, my band has been covering "Shake Dog Shake" by the Cure for quite some time now, and I was thinking of trying to get the same bass sound as on the studio recording. I'm a meat and potatoes bassist when it comes to equipment; just the bass, cord, amp, cabinet, tuner. So I haven't much of a clue when it comes to picking out what effect I'm hearing in tunes.

In that one, is that just straight chorus?

Huge Cure fan here. In my humble opinion, it sounds like a chorus and a flanger, it was most likely boss, as that's mostly all Robert Smith has ever used except for Dunlop wah pedals, and Robert Smith did almost all the instruments on The Top.

I know Simon uses a flanger for that one live, you could check out the Festival 2005 DVD, he had amazing tone throughout the whole DVD and it really stands out. Personally, I use a flanger and either a chorus or overdrive on Shake Dog Shake.
