Question for the acoustical experts: Why go with a 5" speaker array?

CodaPDX, an awful lot of loudspeaker design comes down to a juggling of tradeoffs. For example if you want more x-max, at a minimum you'll have to trade off efficiency, top end extension, money, or some combination thereof.

Here's another example: If you're an engineer, you have to juggle box size, efficiency, and bass extension against one another. But if you're a marketing guy, you are under no such constraints!
