Question : Links to Classifieds Posted in General Forums - OK?

I hope that that title is self-explanatory, but here's what I am getting at.

Forum Rule #3 in the FAQ's says this: "All gear 'for-sale' and 'wanted' text must be limited to posts in the TalkBass Classifieds category." Given that rule, am I prohibited from mentioning in a particular general forum thread related to an item I am selling that I've posted one for sale, and include a link to the classified ad? By way of example, if I am selling an Alembic may I make mention of that fact (and include a link) in the Alembic Club thread in the "Basses" forum.

I'm a supporting member, if that affects the answer.

You have to be a supporting member to post classified ads but it seems to be acceptable to reference FS ads in the general forums unless it is over the top, like a thread just to discuss the bass you have for sale or a post that is off-topic that discusses your for sale bass. I often see folks chime in and mention their bass for sale, often in "what should I buy threads" to boot, so I doubt it would be an issue. I don't actually work here, however, so I could be wrong.

if you're not spammy with it we generally don't mind if supporting members do this - that is don't go find every XYZ brand thread and stick your ad in it. Usually best place is in a 'club' thread if one exists.

I believing having it in your sig is ok as well, like a lot of (supporting) members do, as long as it's not huge font and/or distracting.
