Question on an SX bass

You can paint it but when you find it coming off on your fingers don't blame me. I don't play with a pick or anything but all my axes get scratches in certain areas. I don't know how aggro you play or anything but there is a reason pickguards aren't painited. Maybe I am wrong. Nothing much really to lose by trying. I would have concerns on the sealant or clearcoat.

Hmmm.

How about a few coats of acrylic floor wax?

wonder how bad it is to mod the fender p-bass pickguards to fit the spj-62. i've been thinking that a tortoiseshell pickguard would rawk on my vintage white spj...

I checked my spj against a Fender pickguard, and it appears you'd have to rout out the neck cutout of the pickguard to get it to fit. And redrill some holes.

On your vintage white spj, how would you describe the color? Off white? Ivory? Pale greenish white?

Whatever you would call this.. I guess off-white/creme?

I'm planning getting DiMarzio Model P/J pickups for it in creme color, should look cool if I can get a tort pickguard

I ordered mine either late August or early September.. I think late August... it was whenever they were taken off the site.

I ordered mine and the next day the SPJ's were off the site. I had wanted the sunburst, but they were out.. I called up there and they found a vintage white one, obviously with the newer headstock. I love the color, no green to it at all. It's kinda nice, warm, and fuzzy, if you will.
