[Question] TC BH500 what cab fits?

Hi there

My first post...so, I am sorry for possible mistakes.

I used to combine my TC Electronics BH500 Tech Specs can be found [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with my ooooold MusikMan 2x12 cab. Older than some dinosaurs.

As one of the 12" decided to go into death mode - it is time for a new one.

We are playing pretty fast Punkrock/Hardcore...very loud.
2 guitars and a drumkit. Our room, respectively the amps and the drums are not miked or mixed somewhere. Just "pure" amp sound.

I just returned from a shop and the guys talked about the RS212. Sure I can buy 3 of them and stack them together. Yes, and tomorrow I will buy a new Ferrarie :-)

All I wanna know, is this RS212 loud enough to keep up with the other amps? (room size: at least 60 m2!) My old 4x10" Ampeg is like a candle in the wind. To be honest. This fine little cab is good for home usage. But not for a practice room.

Any advice?

I don't see how it would be.

I've used all configs of 1, 2 and 3 RS210 and RS212 cabs. A single RS212 was my most usual for small bar gigs and rehearsal.

I don't know about your specific 410, but one RS212 is certainly not capable of getting louder than my GB 410. I'd imagine that's true of many (most?) other 410s as well.

If a 410 isn't getting it for you, I think looking for a 212 is going in the wrong direction. I think you need to be looking at pa support.

Oh, and edit: Excuse the preachiness, but I find this a silly comment. The cab is fine for "home usage," rehearsal, and gigs of various types. You're practicing so loud that a cranked 410 isn't enough for you? The problem isn't the amp or cabinet, it's that you guys are playing way to loud. There is absolutely no reason that is necessary. You're just doing it because you want to.

the specs for the ampeg410 is
Ampeg SVT-410HE bass cab - 4x 10" with horn, 500watts/8ohm, 122dB SPL, frequency response: 60Hz-18kHz.

my old 2x12 (MusikMan...1980 or so...:-) ) could handle the loudness level. So my thoughts are that a single 2x12 would be capable

I understand, but here is the thing, it doesnt matter how good the cab sounds if you are not loud enough at practice. If you need a lot of bolume, then you need to have enough cab to get you there. I have my doubts that one 212 is enough for a "really loud" band. I guess my definition of really loud could be different from yours, but two of those 212's would not be enough for my band.
