My suggestion, keeping within your price range...

SX P-bass or Jazz bass. Better build quality than the Squire, lower price. Not as much name recognition, but well thought of in these parts. Check out the Essex Megathread for more info:

$89.99 or 99.99

Some practice worthy amps...all in the under $250 range, and some in the $220 range. Much better wattage and build quality than the one in the package.

The tuner and metronome are fine...I'd skip worrying about a case or bag until you're playing outside the house, for more than just trips for lessons (hint, hint).
I'm in the US.

I only want amps under 100$, closer to 50 though... I don't want to pay too much for an amp jsut yet... you said "practice worthy" do you mean it's only strong enough in my home?

the reason why I need a hardshell case is to protect it from fallin stuff in my closet, and also it has a good lock, which will keep out my snoopy little siblings. x_x The gig bag has no lock... Is that the kind of gig bag that you can put a gym lock on?

I like the first guitar you posted better, it looks awefully like the onle I mentioned before... A lot cheaper too... Is it cheaper adn better than the fender? Well, you already said yeah, but I mean is it cheaper to buy that guitar and the headphones, beginning amp, headphones, cable, strap, and all that stuff for 300$ or to buy it all individually??

The package will be cheaper, but in this case you get what you pay for...The SX will have a better build quality than the Squire (unless you're really lucky), and if you can spring the extra few bucks on the amp, you'll be much happier in the long run. You would have to get the cord, strap etc. on top of things, but really, when it comes to your basic instrument and amp, you want to get the most you can afford. It will be easier to play, sound better, and I've found it to be more motivational.

If you're really concerned about it...there are some options here in the 1-200 dollar range...I'm never big into MF, but if you're going to do cheap and online, it's probably as good a place as any. I'd check out some of the other online discount vendors too.

If you spend 100 bucks on one of those SX's and then 150 or so on an amp, then you'll still have enough to come out ahead and buy a strap and cord, etc.

Better yet, post a 'practice amp wanted' in the gear wanted section down below, and I bet someone would see it...you could get a better amp cheaper from someone here than a new amp.

i c, that's not a bad idea...

But still, this question remains unanswered, and I would like to know the answer, from anyone, if possible. :)
