You, sir, are a respectable gentleman.:)
(see my avatar) ;)
And you sir, were a big help in getting this. First read your review comparing the F112 and BF cabs, and then noticed what head you were using.
A mate on basschat had linked to your thread, and had ordered this cab. This was my first encounter with GB cabs. He waited a long time to get that cab, but sold it to me shortly after to stop me going back to BF lol.

As my original quote stated, "It's so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

Right?

I've had so many amps but when I got this one it kicked out the DB751, then it also kicked out my brand new Jule Monique 700. I mean I play every weekend and most of our fans (I'm in 2 cover bands) could care less if I've got a tube preamp or if I sound so close to having one that even I can't tell, that I decided, hey, what's the diff except for all that heavy lugging around of gear. I chose to be light and right. Lol

Having said all that "I am" on the waiting list for Jule's new Simone preamp pedal. I really am "hoping" that adds some serious special sauce to my BB800. We'll see. :)

Agreed. The F112 was replacing a TCE RS212 cab that I liked, but found to heavy to keep taking to rehearsals. The F112 is a one hand lift, although not the lightest cab I've owned that I could do this with. A big bonus is that the F112 tilts back, so I can keep the volume down at rehearsals.
The BB800 was something I felt I needed to try, based on owners saying the notes had a decent amount of authority. I play with a pick and can sometimes find the notes on the D and G stings sound a bit weak. I'm hoping the BB800 will fatten them up a bit. Ironically I got this rig for its flat tone, as I wanted my Helix to do all the tone shaping, but Ive fallen in love with the BB800 tone and EQ. Enough to take out all the tone shaping blocks in the Helix and just use it as a Stomp box....for now.

Sorry, yes it was indeed. I think he quoted you earlier in the thread and I looked at the avatar and only half remembered who posted the original thread. It's been a long week.
Apologies and thanks for the thread. I thought you got a bit of an unwarranted bashing in that thread, mainly by that BF lot lol.

I had the same exact issue and I too play with a pick. Once I had my Spector Euro 4 LX Plek'd it fixed all of that. My D & G strings now sing like piano strings. No joke.
Find a Plek dealer and have them at least scan your bass. You won't regret it.

Don't get me wrong, the strings aren't quieter in general, it's just that being thinner they seem to lack a bit of presence when played below the 7th fret. Every bass I've owned has had this, but it's never really been a problem as such. Now I'm using a more or less flat sounding cab I was worried it might be more noticeable, and noticed a few BB800 owners mentioned more girth to the notes. Thought I'd give this amp a go. Action etc is all good on my basses, and when I do very occasionally play finger style it's all good.
