You're quite right I just tested it! Apparently 200hz is the cuttoff frequency of a 0.1uF cap on a passive tone control.
no pre-amp. I did try with and without the little FDEK HPF unit for impedance matching and ulta-low cutoff. I only had a few minutes with it and could not get the peizo quackclackdink thing tamed. With the FDEK into the TH350 it's a coupla small quick eq tweaks from my PBass settings. OR conversely, when setup for Upright, switching the electric I can skip the adjustments altogether if Im in a hurry between songs.
Bet it sounds a lot better with the fdeck.....
Kinda sounds like maybe what you have going on with the TH350 ain't especially broke though. I think doubling with the BB800 I'd want go back and forth with something like a Boss LS-2 line selector and separate EQ stompboxes for each instrument. Not super complex and definitely an easier change-over but still more crap than what's working for you now. A lot to be said for going minimalist.
To all those on the fence about a BB800, now is the time to jump-off:
Chances are good that you currently use one or more tone-shaping or dirt pedals. Excellent! The BB800 will love them.
Chances are good that you already have an amp with many knobs, sweepable frequencies, and ultra this and that switches. The BB800 is not that, so you are justified in holding onto your other amps for now.
Chances are good that you will get very spoiled on the BB800's unique dual-stage limiter circuitry and 2-knob "finishing-touch" EQ. You're welcome!
Forget about what you think you need in a performance amplifier and have a go with one designed by the "Q" in "QSC", made in the USA and backed by a company who stands behind their products.

Looking to replace a GK MB500 with something warmer and more slam. I'm torn between a Quilter and a Demeter and maybe an Ampeg PF-50. The application is modest voulme and a jazz setting. Price isn't a driver. I own several other fine quality amps, but am in the market for the right mini.

Perhaps slam isn't the right description. What I am looking for is heft in delivery. Notes with fullness.

You will want to be careful not to have an "accident" or "momentary loss of good judgement" as the amp has enough power to destroy the Shuttle 8T cabinet very quickly under these conditions.
I've been careful with it over the years but yeah, the 8T won't be part of my weekly "open mic house band" gig. Especially since that would mean pairing it and jacking the wattage to 800, making both cabs sitting ducks for an over-aggressive Black Sabbath cover band.
You'll know I screwed up when I send you a private message asking for recommendations on replacement speaker that fits the 8T tuning.

The Quilter does have a scaled output power that can be dialed in for most any cab. But yeah, when jacking that Dial all the way there is some serious power going to the speakers and we also need to remember that speaker thermal ratings are not a 1 to 1 ratio with amp power ratings, and that speakers heat up during the gig.
Sure, I can blow the speaker out easily, but it doesn't matter what wattage head I'm using - that cab is for church youth-group sing-along, acoustic duos, and home practice. I'll drive everyone out of the room LONG before the cab blows up.
I keep the wattage below 140 and the gain below 12:00. If it blows up, I've been making bad life choices.
