Tom, out of curiosity and for my own peace of mind, what do they test at @ 8ohms?In the meantime, I can say that it has performed really well in a band setting, and it has proven to be a solid 800w head in our bench tests. More to come, of course, but it's definitely proving itself well, both in the field and on the bench.
At 8 ohms you would be hard pressed to hurt that kappalite with and of the Class D 800 watt heads.
I have an email in asking about speakons. I really can't believe they would be that shortsighted as to release these 450 watt cabs with only a 1/4"Ideally, each cab would need 2 Speakon jacks to allow subsequent daisy chaining with the BB800 that only has one Speakon output jack

Thanks Tom, because I'd consider downsizing and simplifying from a 4 space skb to a Bass Block. It's always cool to read your feedback on gear - and I trust your words. This is funny (to me). In addition to my BB800 I have a 4 space SKB with a 2k amp with a nice preamp, had (just sold) an aggie db751, also have a peavey minimega and a new darkglass mt 900.

Yeah, I get that they have thought in terms of the guitar amps, but in today's market for a bass cab of this nature (450 watts), it would, IMO, HAVE to be speakon. I think we will find that these were test cabs and the production models will have proper connectors, but my email has not yet been answered so I can't say for sure. At 450 watts, it is my understanding (which can always be wrong) an amp would not meet current regulatory specs with only 1/4" jack, so what good would a speaker cab be with only 1/4" jack. It wouldn't. Therefore it would be shortsighted for any company to do this in the bass marketplace, and with the popularity of the BB800 and performance as addressed by many posts on this thread, I don't think Quilter would be shortsighted and fully expect these cabs to have speakons. Glad to see they responded.
