What, now I gotta get a stack of 3 to compete? HA HA. Never hurts to have a backup amp. I ALWAYS carry one. And the BB800 is so small that it is so easy to carry 2.

I did try the BB800 out with the NV115s. BASSically, what I can say, is if you like the NV115s then you will like them with the Quilter. What I heard was a slightly old school clean tubey amp sound. I liked it.
I used my BB800 for a gig this tuesday night with a single 12 and it slayed. My BB800 is actually my backup amp as I like dual channel amps, but I had no problem dialing in a kick-tail sound Tuesday night with my BB800. For this particular gig, it may become my main amp.
I'm taking delivery of a BB800 next week and I have about $600, give or take, to spend on a new cab. I want it to be LOUD and not enormously heavy. Genre is funk, rock, soul, and jamband stuff.

I'd suggest perusing the Classifieds here on Tb.
I use audiokenesis Hathor 1x12 which is 25 lbs and sounds amazing with the quilter. Would be $700 new I think, but used one would be $600 or so. Best cab I have ever owned. Stupid loud.
I keep coming back to this thread, feeling like I'm fighting a losing battle, and ultimately I'll get one. I have a Super Bassman, and a B|Amp, and should be gas free!
I do often run a pedal board with a pre on it into a Power Amp. This just seems like the perfect companion.

What, you wanna blow doors down? ha ha. I have tried the BB800 with the NV212T and felt it is one of the better matches. I could close my eyes and hear a kinda old-school clean tube amp rig. I actually preferred the NV212T with the Quilter BB800 versus the NV115 pair, although that is just a matter of personal taste and I could easily play a gig with either and be totally happy. Don't know that I would ever want or need a pair of the NV212T speakers, but yeah, that would be an intimidating rig with 4 12s.
Exactly what I do. In most cases, the Quilter is used for the power amp only, with signal going into the line in on the back from the Noble preamp.
Well I ordered one today. Should have it in a few days.
Most traditional Bass amps, have some sort of signature sound to them. When both eq knobs are on flat, is it actually flat, like plugging into a Power amp or is there some tone shaping going on even at dead flat?

To my ear it sounds totally neutral when set flat, however, it continues to sound neutral even when you increase volume, which is totally amazing to me. Generally, IME, amps start to really show their signature when cranked. Must have something to do with those dual limiters maybe?
There's a big difference between front panel "neutral" and XLR-in IMO. There's a warmth and "give" to the preamp in comparison to bypassing it via the XLR.
I'm not sure this equates to a signature sound though.
It reminds me of the Rupert Neve DI, or any other high quality DI.

Ordered mine yesterday, supposed to be delivered today. From the top of Australia to the bottom in just over 24hrs if it happens!
Well it arrived! Put some signal thru it quickly to make sure it worked. Easy to pull a good tone with my P Bass straight away. Sadowsky PJ didn't seem to play as nicely with it straight off the bat. Ran it thru my NV115s.
2 minor gripes.
Why would you supply a gig bag that has no pocket to fit a speaker and power lead in it?
There seems to be some sort of double sided tape between the base plate and front panel. This is out of position and easily visible on the base plate. Makes the amp look cheap and tacked together. I'll trim it or push it back in to tidy it up.
I have a gig Saturday which I will use my Super Bassman for, but I'll take this along and hopefully have a play with it at volume.
