I got this recently and this is my first made in USA bass. I'm stunned. The build quality is superb.
High top Nikes, jeans or spandex, t-shirt and leather jackets. And pointy bass.
Crackle finish on a Fender HM IV! Points for points on a Westone Dynasty and Ibanez EX405!

You've got the factory PU's. I put in H50B's. Do your 3 mini switches still do what they do...? Until a couple of years ago, mine did. But now only the phase works properly. The other two only work as Deep and Bright. Flip the switch to Off and no sound from the corresponding PU at all. Like a kill switch. I replaced one switch - but same thing. It's gotta be either the PU's themselves, or the circuit board the switches mount to. Carvin (Kiesel) had no answers.
Yes, they all do what they are suppose to. About 8 years ago they were being very flaky but it turned out the pots were just dirty, I got some contact cleaner and ever since everything has behaved.
I bought the axe used on Ebay in the mid '90's. The original owner got it defretted by Mike Lull. I have been using the black tape strings for years now as I felt the Bass was too bright for me. Do you know if the body is Maple?
Supposedly they have an alder body, with a maple neck thru. I actually embrace the brightness. In fact, as I mentioned in a different forum thread, I put tung oil into the fretboard using a brush. Was almost like lacquering it, and now it's brighter still. Like my Rick (which has a glossy fingerboard). My LB75 was a factory 2nd.

I had a pair or red acid washed jeans like these I wore often for band gigs.
I had red jeans like these, and also green ones, same model. I don't remember the brand... probably Mustang.
Red were completely worn out, but green I still have. Unfortunately they don't fit anymore, especially after lockdown.
Bandanas, eye-liner and AquaNet.

In the '80s, I played in a Top 40/R&B horn band. I always wore black jeans, plaid or stipped shirt with a tie. Permed hair like Patrick O'Hearn...that's another story that I've told here before.
Anyway, BL wanted the band to dress in Red...red parachute pants, etc. No. F'ing. Way.
BL & me are in line to get a drink. BL gets his for free, bartender wants to charge me.
Why?

I told BL at the next rehearsal. Drummer, exempt from the BL's "dress code", almost died of laughter. Parachute pants were history.
