Those weren't used much in the 80's - you'd see one here or there, but I never saw one used on stage. They were relics from a previous era, from what I remember.

That’s funny, as there is always some stuck
in the 60’s or 70’s curmudgeon that complains about 80’s music in that manner.
Haha! I never got into the wristband thing.
And I only had one pair of parachute pants, but decided very quickly that look was not for me.
There was no one lock-step look from the 80’s, and beards were not that common, considered a stale hold-over from the 70’s and old hippies. There was the whole goth/darkwave/dream pop look, with a lot of angular hair influenced by 1920’s German expressionism.

You and I know that, but I constantly see comments in threads here along the lines of “all music after 1975[or whatever year before 1980] sucks”, or similar. I had no use for a lot of 70’s rock, but for different reasons. Things got more interesting around 1977.
There’s been plenty of cool stuff in the 90’s that wasn’t necessarily on everybody’s radar, and while it might have seemed like it, grunge wasn’t the only thing happening.

I bought this because it looked like no other decade but the 80's... despite being made in 2000.
Another from the collection - that screams Eighties - but actually wasn't.

An Aria Pro II bass, if you were in an English band. And the aforementioned Steinberger headless basses. They allowed more of your 80's fashion to not be obscured by a traditional bass.
