Overheard at highschool football practice. Said by our center, who just happened to have come to practice on acid.


Literally, "Down! Set! "DETRICH'S PURPLE,MAN!.


Detrich, playing middle linebacker, bursts into laughter, as do I and all the other down linemen.








Coaches blow the whistle and immediately we are running double the windsprints we usually end practice with.

Yeah, I'd used that quote in my signature on another forum for years. I'd also seen it attributed to Julius Caesar, Jesus Christ, and William Shakespeare. I went with Lincoln because it sounded more believable. ;):D

I was thinking it should be someone a little more contemporary so that people will believe it for a few moments longer.
