When I receive mine, I can post a demo. They are currently saying early summer, which translated into english likely means mid-winter. Unless you want a 1990 five string demo.
That’s what i thought when i got my first 4004,an ‘04 Cii,until i changed out the pots/cap.The Cii may be a different story, as from my experience, the walnut sandwiched body does make the pickups sound a bit darker compared to the Laredo.
Easy enough to fix,as you know.....Mutemoot point as I now prefer Laredos, anyway. I am not a fan of gold hardware.
I used a .047 cap too. It's wired VVT.Did you keep the .047 cap or use something different?

Thinking about sending my 4004 to Dane to route the HB1's in jazz bass spacing with a 50's style gold pickguard(like Woody's).

That being said I love the 4004 bass, but it HAS to be modified to be a good bass.
