It has come to my attention during a Google search, that B.B. Dickerson, the original bassist for war, and the musician who created the bass lines for their hits during the early 70's had passed away after a long illness on April 2nd of this year. I feel that we as a component of the bass-playing community would be remiss to not memorialize his passing in some way. If I missed a previous theead in my search, my apologies. Morris 'B.B.' Dickerson, Founding Member of War, Dies at 71 War bassist B.B. Dickerson dead at 71
There is a long thread memorializing the career of BB Dickerson that started at the time of his death.
Thanks for the information, Doc. I searched but didn't find anything. For me at least, the search feature here is quite . . . Hit-n-miss.
R.I.P. B.B. Had to put mine in. I saw War in 1974. They were the first band I was to see live. So he was the first bassist I was to see live. What a great introduction into the rock and roll experience. Thanks BB!
