I was sad to read that another pioneer of the MI universe is now one with the universe. Lyndon Laney, creator and founder of Laney amps, has passed away at age 77.

Lyndon Laney designed and built amplifiers which "helped shape the sound of generations of musicians," his company said, most notably that of his long-time friend Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.

Oh... Sad. I am actually very fond of Laney amps, always thought their combos in particular had something interesting in them. A good late friend of mine had a very nice Laney tube guitar combo, his last amp before his death. It's weird that I finally come across a Laney mention by reading about death of Mr. Laney himself. :(
