Actually, it was written by his second wife. He was married 3 times, but only had children with Mary, whom he married in 2000, I believe. He married his first wife, Janina, in 1994. He married his third wife in 2013.

She was well aware of his drug use when they started seeing each other. According to Scott (interviews and his memoir), she actually did drugs with him, and quite heavily for a while before going to rehab. This was before they got married, I believe, and certainly before the kids. She was able to clean up, he wasn’t. Also, they were seeing each other for a few years before he was divorced from his first wife. She actually wrote a memoir called “Fall to Pieces”, though I haven’t read it.

Thanks for the additional info crucislancer. I have not read either books as it hits too close to home but appreciate the info on Mary as it actually confirmed my suspicion that she did know about Scott's drug addiction.

I recommend his book, once you feel up to it. I read it a couple of years ago. It’s informative, but also not your typical memoir. There was an artist’s touch to it, for sure. Also, Duff McKagan’s first book details some of the struggles during the Velvet Revolver years.

I read that article. Allot of anger and sadness , but her point I agree with.

I agree with Mary that heroine addiction should never be glamorized, but IMO it's hypocritical and intellectually dishonest to omit her own participation in heavy drugs especially with Scott from her article. Not everyone has read her book and knows her history with drug use and particularly her heavy drug usage with Scott Weiland.

Mary's article effectively paints Scott as the bad guy while taking no responsibility in marrying him so shortly after his heroine OD and rehab. Apparently Scott's addiction was not enough of a problem to stop her from getting married and having his children. I read about how "what actually belongs in a hospital is now considered art." But where was the concern as she was participating like behavior and in the break up his first marriage?

I hope new attention is brought to Mary's book Fall to Pieces and that it does well if for no other reason to help support her kids.
